Product FAQ:

All of our meat is sourced in the USA.

As a USDA plant, we have a USDA inspector on site every day to put their stamp of approval on all of the human food that we make. But pet treats aren’t overseen by the USDA but rather the FDA which doesn’t oversee human food. So, we use human grade meat, and we cook it in a similar way, but it’s not stamped by the USDA. But don’t be surprised if you see our CEO snacking on our dog treats…he eats them all the time!

Because we gently cook and freeze dry our treats, they are shelf stable for three years from the date of manufacture which is printed on the bottom of every package.

Our treats are slow roasted and freeze dried. It is not necessary to refrigerate or freeze them. They are completely shelf stable!

Absolutely NOT! Freeze drying is all the preserving that is needed!

No way! We get this question a lot because even if these processes are used, it’s usually not printed on the label. We use a combination of slow-roasting and freeze-drying to make our treats to lock in nutrients, flavor and aroma. Other treats may be dipped in peroxyacetic acid, sprayed with ozone gas or high pressure processed.

No, beef liver is a protein rich food.

We list the feeding guidelines on the package and on our website for easy reference. Depending on the size of your pet (cats love them too), we recommend starting with a piece or two and making sure your pet tolerates the treats well. Some pets may be used to treats that have other ‘things’ in them and since our treats are 100% human grade beef liver, we don’t want to ‘overserve’ them!

We recommend:

  • 2-4/day for small dogs
  • 4-6/day for medium dogs
  • 6-8/day for large dogs

We also suggest using the ‘shake’ as an enticing meal topper. You can even mix in a little water to make a broth.

This is a great question for your vet! This would certainly depend on your pet’s overall diet, medication and supplement regimen.

At the risk of your dog going bonkerz, you can leave them right on the counter! They are shelf stable and should be kept in a cool, dry place.

Quality! When we give our pets ‘leftovers’, we know what we’re giving them. But a lot of pet treats are made with unmentionable leftovers that humans wouldn’t and shouldn’t eat. We believe better quality food translates to a healthier, happier pet!

We slow roast 100% human grade beef liver at varying secret temperatures (we are required to reach a temperature of 160 degrees for a period of time to ensure food safety). Once the liver is cooked, we freeze dry it to remove all of the moisture and to make a lightly crispy nugget.

 Zero!

You can always mix up the treats you give your pets. Just start with the recommended feeding guidelines.

This is a good thing! We use a combination of dicers and blades to cut our meat and real meat has variations in it. Our treats are not extruded or ‘formed’ into a manufactured shape. They’re totally natural.

Yes! We have all of the required certifications and supplier affidavits (and several that are not required since we are also a USDA certified human food plant). We also have registrations either in force or in process in every state that requires them!
